At the end of October, New York State will begin issuing taxpayers whose income under $50,000 on their 2021 NY return (Page 2, Line 19A) two stimulus checks.
- The first is for anyone who received the Empire State Child Tax Credit (Page 4, Line 63). The taxpayer may qualify for anywhere from 50% to a 100% depending on their line 19A income
- The second is for anyone who received the NYS Earned Income Credit (Page 4, Line 65) or the NYS Non-Custodial Earned Income Credit (Page 4, Line 66). This check will be for 25% of what is on those lines.
These checks are not taxable nor are the an advance on your credits for tax year 2022
